My standard toolbar is gone and cannot get it back....help!

Question

My standard toolbar is gone and with it the "view" icon to go to turn on/off toolbars. When I press Alt+V it appears for just a moment and before I can lock on it, it is gone. How do I get my standard toolbar back? I do not know what I did to lose it!Help!

The standard toolbar of which application?

If this is a toolbar in Windows, then we would need to know what brand of computer you have to try to identify what the problem is. We would alos need to know some of the things that were on teh toolbar so we can identify which toolbar is the issue.
