I cant access the reponse to the last email I sent using gmail

I can read old conversations but the last two or three show a response and I tap to read it and I can only read what I wrote. How can I finish reading my emails

In the email, down near the bottom of what is shown, there is probably an elipses (3 dots - "...") .click that to see the "hidden" text.
