How to Uninstall DirectX 11 on Windows server 2008R2

How can we uninstall DirectX 11 on a server running Windows Server 2008 R2?

This is one of two servers used for a systems integration solution, and requires DirectX 9.0c in order for two specific applications to run together.

 

The manufacturers of each application say that we must have DirectX 9.0c installed on the servers in order to continue with our troubleshooting efforts.

Is it possible to safely remove DirectX 11 and install DirectX 9.0c?
