how can i delete mails in gmail inbox at a time

In my gmial account many unwanted mails have entered. Now the number of mails are 1686 in a month. Its a problems to clear my inbox. I cannt know to prevent unwanted mails. So many time bears to delete mails clicking one by one at 50 mails at a time. I am wanting to delete 1686 mails at a single click or less efots.

You can delete them one screen (usually 50 emails) at a time. At the top of the list of mail, there is an empty check box. If you click that to put a check in it then it will select all of the emails on the page. Press Delete and they will all be gone. I do not believe there is a way to do it faster than 50 emails per click.
