i dont know password for dell dimensions 3000 it says its invalid

i have a home computer dell dimensions 3000 ,so when you turn it on the dell symbols shows then to a black screen where it asks for a password which i dont know can you help

If this is a BIOS password, you can try clearing the CMOS/BIOS memory to clear the password, but failing that you will need to contact Dell. If you just bought this machine from someone you should ask them to give you the password. Dell probably won't help without proof of ownership.
