my Sims 2 game wont launch it says Sims launcher failed, why is this

I have all the Sims 2 games and extras but when i try to play mt computer says Sims Launcher has failed why is this? I dont like Sims 3 & dont want to have to start collecting all the add on packages again

It's broken, that's why.

To be of any help we would have to have the exact error message and the details of when it happens.

The easiest thing to do might be to uninstall and reinstall, making sure that you have all of your license keys and install media.
