when i try to open a pdf file for a lesson, it pulls up for half a second and turns black, i have a macbook air

When i was first trying to access the pdf file, an error showed up telling me i had to launch adobe reader and accept terms and exit. after i did that, the file would load for just a split second and stays black. i tried to just save the doc to a pdf and pull it up on adobe reader or word but it cuts out half the lesson.

I had that problem or one very similar with Adobe reader for a long time. I finally ditched Adobe and switched to FoxIt Reader, another free program. I find it works much better for me.
