windows update error code 0x8024a00 & get choppy video

I have a HP Paviliondv7 notebook upgraded from windows 7 to 8, cannot get updates, and videos are choppy. can someone please help? I have an AMD A6-3400 APU with RADEON H D GRAPHICS 1.40GHz, 8.00 GB RAM, 750 HD

You need to get the latest updates for your machine. Go to the HP website and download/install the latest drivers, software, and BIOS update appropriate to your laptop and Windows 8.
