my Kindle if fully charged, the green light comes on byt the screen does not appeasr

I have been using my Kindle regularly with no problem. Ater picking it up the green light came on but no picture on the screen. I have tried to find information to re-boot it but am not able to find any instructions. Please help me, my Kindle is very important to me. thanks
