phone keeps cutting off

I have straight talk ZTE just stated cutting off my its self can't even read a message before it cuts off..and very slow have to retry thing s. Need help badfamily member in hospital this the way to get inform. ..need simple don't. Undestanf how to do a lot on here. Plz fix
