how to i get a disc out of drive

i put in a disc into cd drive.  It didn't start running.  pushed eject button.  Door opens but no disc

I would take the drive out of the computer, open the drawer and work the disk out by trying to position the drive so htat the disk could fall out. Shake the drive to see if you could get it out. Failing that, I would disassemble the drive to get the disk out. Depending upon the drive, you may have to be destructive, but fortunately, a new DL DVD-RW drive can be had for under $20.
