how long does it take for the update on Windows8 to restart the computer after downloading?

I downloaded the update.for windows 8 and I restarted my gateway computer. How long does it take for the computer to return to functional use?

I am guessing you upgraded from windows 7? It might take around an hour at most depending on the speed of your computer.

Will take several hrs, I recomend update to windows 8.1 will work like having windows 7
