How to fix ASUS Eee1001pxd restarts on every login, after an ASUS countdown 60 second timer?

Windows 7 Starter on ASUS Eee 1001pxd.  All ASUS updates and Windows 7 updates installed (automatically).  I am unable to do anything during the ASUS dialog box countdown (59 seconds before the automatic reboot.  The same thing happens with or without the internet cable attached.  This has repeated more than 12 times, with no changes except for logins by two different users.
