Asus zenfone not connecting with laptop

I am unable to connect Asus Zenfone to laptop for USB thatering to use mobile as modem for internet. In the wireless section I clicked on more and there is a option called USB thathering but It is not responding and my phone is not recognizing the usb connection. Please help.
