If "Ask Toolbar" isn't in your Programs control panel, then either it's a different toolbar that includes Ask search results, or perhaps you just have Ask set as a default homepage in your browser. Check your browser options to verify your homepage is how you want it, and look in Programs for a toolbar of some other name.

I heard that the ASK search engine piggy-backs on Java when you download the new version.  This happened to me and I am not happy and have been trying to get rid of ASK for weeks.  It overrode my Google Chrome and I am not able to get Google back.  I went to the Help at the bottom of the ASK page and it gave me the name of the program I needed to uninstall to get rid of it. HaHa!
I did that, rebooted my computer and still have that damn ASK but now the program name is missing and there is nothing in my default program list that corresponds with any name the ASK page gives me.

Try to open Start Menu and click All programs.

Click Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons)

When IE browser opens, click Tools > Manage Add-ons.

Then you might find Ask Toolbar at Toolbars and Extensions pane.
