Can I disable the wireless internet of my router and still be connected by wire?

I'm not sure about your model, but most routers can disable the wireless altogether, and that is totally independent from the wired ports (wired still works). 
 

You have to log into the router via the admin login, go to the wireless sections, and look for any enable/disable option. Disable it, then be sure to "Save" the setting. Often a reboot/power cycle of the router will then clear everything related to wireless. (may not be necessary...)
